A flower crown, chaplet, or wreath is a "circular garland, usually woven of flowers, leaves, and foliage, that traditionally indicates honour or celebration."
Many children have made bracelets, necklaces, and crowns by tying the stems of small flowers together.
These may be referred to as daisy chains. But the practice of making flower crowns has a long history.
Ancient Egyptians sewed flowers to cloth bands and tied them around the head. In ancient Greece, wreaths were awarded to Olympic athletes, poets, and public speakers.
Ancient Roman politicians and victorious warriors wore wreaths of olive leaves as a mark of honor.

Today, flower crowns are most often worn by brides or others in the wedding party. Certain holidays or events such as the Coachella music festival also bring out wreath-wearers.
In some tropical countries, flower crowns or leis - necklaces of flowers - may be worn on formal occasions, for celebrations, or to welcome visitors.
Flower wreaths are still a part of the Ukrainian national costume and are worn on festive occasions.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing a Flower Crown
How to Draw a Great Looking Flower Crown for Kids, Beginners, and Adults - Step 1
1. Begin by drawing three circles and a half-circle. These will form the centers of the flowers.

2. Draw long, "U" shaped petals around one of the circles. The resulting flower should resemble a daisy.

3. Draw the "U" shaped petals of the second flower.

4. Draw "U" shaped petals to complete the two remaining flowers.

5. Draw leaves between the flowers, some partially hidden and some overlapping the blossom next to them. For each leaf, extend two curved lines and allow them to meet at a point. Then, draw a curved line down the center to indicate the leaf vein.

6. Draw three "U" shaped lines at each end of the flower chain. These indicate the upper petals of a flower that is partially hidden by the others. Then, draw a leaf on each end. For each leaf, extend two curved lines and allow them to meet at a point. Then, draw a curved line down the center to indicate the leaf vein.

7. Draw a pair of parallel curved lines between the two ends of the flower chain. This portion of the crown could be made of string, ribbon, grass, stems, or vine.

8. Adorn the flower crown with fern fronds. For each fern leaf, draw a long curved line. Then, draw "U" shaped lines for the leaflets on each side of it. Draw a few bare twigs, curved lines with shorter curved lines emerging from them.

9. Detail the flowers. At the ends of the twigs, draw many short lines with a small circle at the tip of each. These indicate clusters of tiny flowers. Draw small "U" shaped lines to texture the centers of the daisies, and contour the petals with curved lines emerging from the centers.
